Born in 1969 in Sainte-Adresse, EM lives and works in several places in Normandy. As a nomad, his paints and spray cans are always in his luggage.
His work is a cross between Street Art, Figuration libre (free figuration) and Pop Art. His work is influenced by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Erro, and more recently by Speedy Graphito, Bansky, Jef Aerosol, C215 or Miss.Tic.
Crazy about comics, EM uses comic characters in his work: contemporary characters, but also 70s and 80s TV, cinema or cartoon legends. He paints using both stencil, spray paint and posca on various supports (canvas, wood, metal, vinyl) and the more traditional acrylic paint.
EM loves freedom: freedom of thought and freedom of expression. For him, Art is an important vector of freedom. Art is his means to express his thoughts and most importantly to share them.
EM is a confident, happy and passionate artist. He is passionate about the works he brings to life but also about today's art, its innovative ideas, concepts, and techniques… EM has opened in 2008 the gallery La Bohême in Deauville to help these different currents express themselves and gain recognition. The gallery hosts numerous exhibitions and events, such as live painting performances on unconventional supports.
