Presentation

Guy Faidy was born in Carhaix in 1952. He has always been painting. He lives and works in Saint Brieuc.

His work is a studio production, never determined by the exhibiting place. What he shows comes from the observation of the nature; a summoned nature rather source than model. He gets from her its rhythms, colors, forms and movements which he then organizes.

Nothing, here, is spontaneous or unconscious, but rather the slow and resolute result of a musing and a productive, deliberate and active meditation. An abstraction? Yes and no. In any case, a pictorial production with no concern of representation, perspective, "resemblance". He suggests the watcher to discover, to go in the unseen rather than to recognize (and maybe feel reassured).

The wind, the sea, the fields, the clouds passing, all these dynamics, these movements are the compost of its work: setting free what shows, looking through the "model", drawing lineaments, thinking of the color, giving importance to the gesture and the movement. For, in the end, giving a picture, which, from a distant, even forgotten, reference, shows its improper novelty, its unforeseen appearance.
