Presentation
Pascale Hemery lives and works between Paris and Burgundy. His art transfigures the urban landscape in painting, drawing or charcoal. In engraving, she produces very large color formats using a very unique bleed wood process.
Philippe Garnier writes about him: “Pascale Hemery draws the reverse side of big cities. It gives to see the courtyard side or the terrace side with vast plunging views, as if it were standing at the top of the highest building. She composes fragments of a silent city with a tangle of lines that suggests the nearby chaos. With it, reverie keeps a great precision of contour. With charcoal and sometimes with chalk, she manages to make the surface of a part of a building live and breathe, she makes the metal beam of a railway line vibrate, she restores to urban mastodons a part of softness and fragility. She gives these mazes of cement and stone the sensitivity of a sleeping body. "
In Exhibition Catalog of the exhibition "Les Cahiers dessinés" - Halle St Pierre Museum, Paris 2015
