Presentation

I have always been attracted to Art with a capital A, painting, sculpture, posters, architecture... Nevertheless, I particularly like surrealism, abstract art, cubism where color sublimates forms. For a long time, I scribbled on all possible supports with my head full of images without daring to admit to myself that I wanted to paint. Indeed, I did not feel legitimate, having never followed artistic training. About ten years ago, as an autodidact, I swapped colored pencils for dry pastels. My desire for colors and shapes was able to develop.

Certainly, pastels offer an intense color palette and absolute luminosity. I groped long enough I agree. I tested a number of techniques, collages, markers and acrylic. Firstly, to acquire skills, and secondly, to appreciate which techniques would be best suited to my style. This research time was a source of pleasure and above all the confirmation of a real passion for painting. Acrylic gave me a certain contentment. Indeed, it allows the use of coated fabrics of all sizes. I appreciate being able to express myself on large surfaces, the color is immediately transcended there. In addition, it offers, thanks to its panel of mediums, offers amazing textures.

Little by little, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, to try oil, a less immediate technique, and above all more complex. I admit I particularly like oil for its luminosity, its transparency, its intensity.

If I changed my color palette, I also tried the figurative which seemed totally inaccessible to me at the start. Of course, I am in a very stylized figurative style because my goal is to provoke an emotion with a symbolic representation and not a realistic reproduction. For example, with my series on trees, I don't try to show a tree but rather what it symbolically represents for us, the affect it provokes. His majesty, his protection, his benefits which give us security and are precious to us. Its essential role in the myths and object of devotion in the first beliefs show its importance. The woman I gradually integrated into my series of trees is Eve, or the goddess Lilith in Sumerian literature or the nymph Calypso in Homer's Odyssey. In my series of femininities or goddesses, it is the woman with or without nature that I want to represent her sweetness, the mystery, the strength of the woman sometimes surrounded by luxuriant and wild vegetation. I like to duplicate some of my paintings with a variation of colors, faces. At the same time, I continue to explore the infinite possibilities offered by abstract art, textures, shapes, stains, shadows, because the imagination is total.
