Sixtine De Lageard

Sixtine de Lageard is a French artist who grew up in Singapore. She began painting at seven years old when her mother gave her a painting set. The set always travelled with her wherever she went on holidays or expeditions in neighbouring countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, or back in her native France. She sketched and coloured scenes and people that she saw around her. 

From her travels, and from growing up in an international environment, Sixtine quickly developed an insatiable curiosity towards different cultures. Her art reflects her curiosity in the outside world: she uses colour to give a deeply individual character to each of her subjects. Her sources of inspiration are varied, from everyday sights to artists such as Carolina Piteira. She has a first class honours degree from University College London in Arts and Sciences. She lives in the Netherlands. Young talented and promising artist, her paintings are directly inspired by his experiences of travel and pluriculture.
