The painter Jean-Michel Courades, born in 1957 in Navarrenx, received artistic training in Brussels. The evolution of his painting is that of an initially sinuous line in the form of loops then stretching the color in straight lines always in weavings, entanglements for abstract compositions which trap the gaze.
The structure which determines the compositions always consists of roughly similar elements. There is a systematization of the pictorial elements; compositions made of loops or lines covering the entire surface of the painting. We can relate the artistic approach followed to the current of abstract minimalism.
