Hasb

Hasb (1984) graduated from the Ecole des Beaux - arts in Nantes with mention "congratulations from the jury" in 2007.

His work revolves mainly around hybridization, transformation and mutation. His subjects are varied but brought together by marked graphic codes. Influenced from childhood by street art and graphics, HASB works with markers, aerosol spray but also Indian ink. The codes of graffiti and the way it treats them are found in each creation and unify them. He can therefore go from lettering, to portrait or still life.

There are many references in his work. He likes to mix classical culture and popular culture by reinterpreting subjects. Whether it is the name of a famous painter, a code specific to graffiti, a vanity, a reminder of a manga or even a video game, he plays at composing scenes, creatures or characters integrating these references. It is the same technically. He mixes a very precise drawing where the work of the representation of the detail, the material and the shadows countered by marked rings and stains of paint much more raw or even gestural.

Strongly influenced by science fiction literature, we find in his work all that is mentioned above on characters, objects, letters or hybrid creatures. Bodies become animals or cybernetics. The organic rubs shoulders with the mechanical. The classic meets the urban.
