Christian Vogel was born in Colmar, in 1956 and began to paint very young, after a passage through music which he still practices today, including through his paintings. He himself says, moreover: "...painting can be looked at but also listened to, no image without music, no music without image ..."
Very influenced by Otto Dix, the master of German expressionism, Vogel participated in numerous school projects and in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad.
Although he is considered expressionist, his canvases are influenced by painters as different as Sisley or Kandinsky, while benefiting from the colors of Fauvism and the mental introspection of the surrealists.
Vogel's style, which is rather figurative, with sumptuous ochres and blues, sometimes tends towards abstraction. In any case, it is always a universe of light that guides him ...
