Visual artist and videographer, graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Caen, registered with the artists' house since 2006, Florent Cordier has developed his visual universe in France and abroad.
His artistic commitment develops through two main axes: the hybridization of traditional mediums with digital on the one hand, a reflection on time and absence on the other. The human figure allows him to create a link between all of his productions, but is in no way the primary subject.
He draws in color, scratches, erases, superimposes, in order to rewrite and bring out figures, like so many contemporary palimpsests. If the traces of the tools draw, dig and erase, they also reveal, paradoxically, what was buried.
Serial work allows Florent Cordier to explore different variants of the same subject, so each of his productions is to be included in a coherent overall whole.
The volume creations echo traditional statuary but also refer to a more conceptual and aesthetic approach.
The lace creates new rhythms, like so many breaths.
