Presentation

Carmenly is a French painter born in 1980. Influenced on the one hand by the colorful graphics that rocked her childhood in the 80s and 90s and on the other hand by a jeweler father who constantly scribbled her inspirations, she naturally moved towards graphic design studies.

First vector draftsman Carmenly then quickly learns acrylic painting. From then on, her creative impulses led her to juggle between graphics and painting.

The Posca markers, which she particularly likes for their saturated hues and opacities, are used to add color and dynamism to these works. Inspired and captivated by illustrators such as Fred Beltran or Jason Brooks but also by painters very different from what she tends towards, such as Maurice de Vlaminck, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres or even Yves Klein, Carmenly feeds on her big names and many others to develop his work.

Audrey Valette of her real name chose the pseudonym Carmenly, in homage to her roots and grandmothers. One Spanish Carmen and the other Vietnamese Ly.
