Presentation

Cyrille Plate's career has been built off the beaten track. Far from schools and conventions, this self-taught artist entered the world of art twenty years ago, a world that was still unknown to him until then.

More than a visual artist, Cyrille Plate is a creator who does not stop at the declension of a theme but who proposes "collections" according to his inspirations, his experiments and the new techniques that he tames little by little.

Today it is difficult to define the precise contours of his work because he is certainly not part of an artistic fashion but rather of an iconoclastic universe. His work must be understood as an endless experimentation, with no real thread except that of the imagination.

This work around the motif is inspired by materials such as textiles and weaving. It is realized on large format canvases and each line or shape is drawn by hand.
