GRYM

Born in 1972 in Sarlat-la-Canéda in the Périgord, Géraldine Sembeille alias GRYM is an artist who, as a child, dreamed of being a painter, who was already drawing in her notebooks, just as she was learning the treble clef. Passionate about paintings, the great masters, she discovered the Renaissance with the great Italian painters and began to draw works by Raphaël, then Picasso, Friedrich, Cézanne.

Voluntary and passionate, GRYM manages to integrate the school of drawing and decorative arts of Maurice Albe. For ten years, the master never stopped teaching her the basics of drawing, proportions, the human body, faces, perspectives, combining different practices: charcoal, red chalk, Indian ink , gouache, dry pastels, crayons, acrylic and oil.

Entering the working life, dedicated to pedagogy, GRYM teaches economics in high school with sometimes the possibility of intervening on specific actions in visual arts with students.

In 2000, she joined the painting studio run by Ashot. It's an explosion, a revelation! GRYM began to paint diligently, copying certain great masters such as Monet, Sisley, Picasso…

From then on, she never stopped painting, working on techniques, effects, superpositions, fades, glazes… and chained collections in order to share her passion, her art with a more receptive and enthusiastic public at each encounter.

Influenced by great artists such as Raphaël, Monet, Sisley, Kandinsky, Picasso, Miro or Pollock, Eurgal, Soulages… The artist borrows, studies, capitalizes on techniques, styles… to better affirm her artistic style marked by movement and the colour.

Neither totally abstract nor figurative, the artist GRYM offers a combination of several styles.

Among her various sources of inspiration, there are many elements such as the elements, water, wind, earth, fire combined together on the canvas, as well as the planet through her landscapes.
