Iginio Iurilli was born in Gioia del Colle in 1943, lives and works in Capurso (Bari, Italy). In the early years, in addition to his pictorial activity, he created some sets for the Petruzzelli and Piccinni Theaters in the same city. In 1976, he began a long phase of reflection that lasted three years which led him to definitively prefer sculpture. Thus he begins to experiment with poor materials such as grape stalks, paper, desert sands, sheet metal, wood, followed by ceramics and other materials. He has exhibited throughout Italy in personal and collective exhibitions of a national and international nature. In 2011 he was invited to the 54th edition of the Venice International Biennale (Italy-Puglia Pavilion). In the same edition of the Venice Biennale is invited by the ass. Culturale Eclettica and from the P. Pascali Museum to the collateral exhibition "Pascali return to Venice, a contemporary gaze". Many of his works are permanently exhibited in various museums in Italy and abroad as well as in private collections including: Benaki Museum in Athens, the Pino Pascali Foundation in Polignano a mare, the Provincial Art Gallery in Bari, the Biella Museum, the Must Museum in Lecce.
