After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Dakar in 1997, Amadou Camara Gueye was immediately exhibited in a gallery, an essential basis of his artistic career. He lives and works in Dakar in the popular district of Pikine, very present in his paintings. He was selected in 2000 at the Biennale of Contemporary African Art in Dakar, a participation which immediately favored his international openness. Quickly spotted by a Dutchman who collects it, he opens the doors of Europe to him, and is invited to several residences. His career in France is very successful and he exhibits through his gallery regularly in Paris, in the provinces, during numerous exhibitions and abroad: Brussels & Madrid in particular. Amadou Camara Gueye is collected in particular by Europeans and Americans, institutions, foundations and individuals. In April 2006, one of his works was acquired by the French State and in June 2009, another of these creations was acquired by the Chinese State, in Shenzhen.
