Antonio Ogáyar

From a very young age he began to be interested in drawing and painting: he began an initial stage of abstract painting and over time he discovered that figurative art was his best vehicle of expression and used drawing to capture his themes and projects. He is a self-taught painter and draftsman and without having received a regulated artistic education, he has known how to stand out in the artistic world receiving awards, participating in collective exhibitions and having individual exhibitions. Dispensing with an artistic education base has not been an obstacle for the artist, but he points out that in order to offer and share how much he can contribute to society, there are very few opportunities and little space for the artist to represent himself and be able to contribute knowledge to society. The themes that appear in his work are figurative, they make up poetic scenes, they have fullness and the basis of all of them are reflective attitudes of the characters with surrealist overtones. The technique used is mainly drawing, working with pencil, wax, markers and collage. The person who looks at a painting by Antonio Ogáyar stops at the various elements that the painting itself contains and tries to give it a sense of which the viewer is surprised and satisfied. His artistic influences have been expressionism and hyperrealism, trends that are appreciate in all his work.
