Corinne Felgate

Corinne Felgate is an English artist of Armenian and Italian origins born in 1984 in London, where she currently lives and works. At first she studied linguistics at the University College of London, before obtaining a Barchelor of art from the Slade School of Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Art from the Wimbledon College of Arts.

Corinne Felgate works mostly on porcelain. Her work is full of humor, an attempt to rewrite the world. Her pieces are usually contextual and her installations and aculptures are intellectual and touching at the same time. They try to explore, test and make fun of our modern world, successor of varied cultural, industrial and political stories.

Recently, Corinne Felgate's works address the subject of the cultural and psychological relationship of the industrial manufacturing process in the digital era. Her pieces seek to revive the pre-industrial processes to invite the public into a dialogue about the contemporary and historical issues of production in art, design and fashion.

Corinne Felgate has made several works for ArtsAdmin, the National Gallery of London, the British Ceramics Biennial and her pieces have been exhibited in several renowned institutions such as at the Tate Modern of London, the Palazzo Grassi in Venise, and the Midlands Arts Center.
