Poonam Choudhary - A Passionate Artist Painting Her World from Upstate NY.
Few people can say that they're lucky enough to live their passion every single day. As a full-time contemporary abstract artist, she is one of those people – expressing her character through color and creativity from her art studio in Upstate New York. She has even had the honor of working for household names like Samsung – perhaps you've even seen her art light up your living room while your TV is in Art Mode! It was a privilege to make the Frame TV something people want to watch even when they're not watching TV.
Her work showcases her mind's inner workings through a fusion of acrylic paint, oil pastels, extreme texture contrasts, ceramic, concrete, epoxy resin, glass stones… she could go on. She has never been one to bind herself to one tool or material. When it comes to conveying her thoughts, emotions, feelings, and mood through art, She explores as many mediums as possible – and it all depends on where she draw inspiration from for the particular piece she is working on. Today, Her private art collections have been featured on an international stage, and her art has been sold to almost every corner of the world.
She has always been fascinated by art, in particular, the concepts of feminism, abstract geometry, and modern takes on nature's landscapes. Art is a universal language everyone can understand, even if they don't share the same native tongue. Dig deep, and you can see at a glance whether a painting expresses love, anger, conflict, sorrow, joy...it's all there between the lines and layers of color and texture.
Abstract art is a way to her to showcase her soul on the outside, translating her intangible feelings and emotions into real, physical pieces of art that you can touch and experience with the senses. Wherever possible, She try to use all-natural materials sourced from nature which are just as strong as they are delicate – showcasing the contrasting vigor and vulnerability of mother nature. Creating abstract figurative art is no easy feat, but the outcome makes everything worth it – an authentic portrayal of the intangible emotions of her spirit.
And as an artist, She take her responsibility to share messages of inspiration very, very seriously. Her hope is that, through art, She can awaken emotions in the people who view her work – be it ecstasy, elegance, retrospect, or pensiveness. Art changes lives, and sometimes, can even save lives, by inspiring people to slow down, breathe, and truly absorb the raw beauty of life.
