Multidisciplinary artist Robin Slonina from Las Vegas, USA, has been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world, but she is probably best known as a producer and judge on the hit body painting competition TV show “Skin Wars" (Netflix).
A buzzing first experience in Berlin was the inspiration for a body of work she created for The Weinmeister: she moved to the German capital in August 2018, in the midst of one of the worst heat waves on record, which caused the German wasp population to boom up to 10 times.
The wasps, along with Berlin's street art influence and elements of her inherited American pop and pin-up culture, finally led to a series collectively called „Busy BE“. The artist states: “BE is for bees, BE is for Berlin, BE is for being."
