Nina Swistel is a multi-media artist, with reoccurring themes such as, Environmentalism, Feminism and the Internet. Her most recent installation, House of Social Media, deals with the digital divide between the physical world and the internet. Swistel uses materials, such as, plastic, resin, plaster, and foam. 

Swistel often includes found objects that she recycles into her work. Swistel also uses natural elements, such as plants, dirt and rocks. Swistel predominantly focuses on themes of sustainability in her work in order to show a conceptual relationship between society and art. Many sustainable artists are focused on the act of sustainability and less on the conceptual aspect of the work. Swistel uses her work to raise questions, and inspire though provoking concepts about sustainability and our society.

Nina has displayed in a number of institutions in New York. Exhibitions: Conduit Pop-up Show at One Art Space, New York, NY, November 2018 2019 -Residency - Miratecarts - in Pico Island, Portugal. She will be building a permanent installation on the island in their sculpture park, Galeria Costa.
