Nearly 35 years of dancing and creating dance art installations yielded many dance-themed paintings. When immersed in Improvisation sessions, I connect with collaborators-dancers, and when taking a rest, I observe the joyful experience and make sketches of fellow dancers. This inside-out and outside-in approach captures the dynamic of intensity and relaxation in dancing bodies. The bodies are depicted using unstable, abstract forms and dynamic, expressive colors, thereby instilling a feeling of movement or movement potential, as the bodies playfully appear and disappear on the canvas. I am also drawn to the social and collaborative aspect of dance. As a painter, I spend a great deal of time alone, and this energy of collaboration and socializing gives me a sense of connection to the universe and something larger than myself. Because the collective group energy draws me to this subject, I do not paint individual faces or details on the dancers. Whether it's birds frolicing on a picnic table or a dancer losing themselves in the present moment, I want the viewer to hear the music of color because I believe color is the essence of painting. Working in traditional genres such as landscape, still life, and figurative painting where the format is already set, I have an opportunity to create expressive non-narrative canvases that, via composition, energy, and, especially, color, evoke emotional responses. My work often contrasts stillness with motion, solid objects with flat backgrounds, and painting in different shades of a chosen hue, resulting in qualities of dynamism and beauty. From a childlike disregard and a willingness to follow blindly the movement of my hand across the canvas, I allow form to materialize naturally without provoking it. Fine lines—scratches layered over contrasting chunky brushstrokes, daubs of light—unearth figures, become suggestions of life in the dappled world of the painting. In some of my paintings, objects are partially obscured because I want to leave it to the viewer's imagination to create worlds or stories within the painting. Viewing my art is not a passive activity; it is a dynamic act of joy-making. Like a moving musical piece, my art is abstracted, ordered, and emotionally charged.

My work is influenced by the Lyrical Abstraction of Kandinsky, Suprematism of Malevich, and Fauvism of Matisse.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?
For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.
To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?
Artsper delivers worldwide!
However, please note that once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other customs fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them (this is indicated at the ‘checkout’ first step).
Select the delivery address of your choice. Please make sure that someone is present to receive your order.
If your billing address is different to your delivery address you can specify this at the checkout.
Return and cancellation
You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.
In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.
Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).
The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).
