In 2019, I made a portrait that brought a lot of joy to our lives, it's Walt Disney. How many generations have passed under the life of his creations and enriching us through emotions and reasoning. The imaginary world, laughter and cries, friendship and hatred, jealousy and cunning, observation of nature, comparison, optimism, it's all there. In 1923, Disney moved to Los Angeles, where he and his brother Roy created The Walt Disney Company in Hollywood, a small animation studio. The palm trees on my canvas are the palm trees of Hollywood, creative cradle, land of dreamers under whose shadows their ideas develop. Walt Disney approaches us to the horizon where the sky and the earth meet, from where inspiration becomes reality. This horizon constantly seduces humanity by the discovery of new things. He created two of his children, Mickey and Minnie. He begins to draw one of these characters on the train bringing him back from New York to Los Angeles, inspired by a mouse. The character is baptized Mortimer Mouse, before being renamed Mickey Mouse by Lillian Disney. In 1928, marks the birth of Mickey Mouse, as well as that of Minnie Mouse. Colony Theater in New York is screened to the Steamboat Willie audience, where Mickey and Minnie have appeared. This is the first cartoon with synchronized sound.
