    Title: 'Blue Tango Series'

Media: Mixed media on canvas unframed

Frame: This work is offered unframed and unstretched and it is shipped rolled in a tube.

'Blue Tango Series' is a vibrant abstract painting by Australian artist Kirsten Jackson whose practice seeks to suffuse the whole world with radiant beacons of painted happiness.

Kirsten works in impasto style with a variety of acrylic mediums on canvas, each work is infused with boundless energy and joy for life. Her determination to exude shameless, infectious happiness everyday through her art has made Kirsten a beloved fixture among the Australian art community.

A life-long love of painting and studying Visual Arts at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), inspired Kirsten’s vibrant career as an abstract artist.
Expressionist in style, her first series, “Faces” depicted figurative portraits of Kirsten’s late mother, whom Kirsten strongly believes guided her to art.
Whilst her work has since evolved into a texturally rich exploration of colour, light and space, Kirsten’s earlier portraits spontaneous style is present in her works to this day.

Kirsten Jackson

Australia Born in: 1970

A passionate artist since childhood, Melbourne based artist Kirsten Jackson studied Visual Arts at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and has gone on to maintain a flourishing and fulfilling career.

Over the past fifteen years Kirsten has worked as a professional artist, concentrating predominantly on abstraction. Her career has followed an impressive upward trajectory, collecting a notable array of Australian art awards and highly commended prizes along the way.

Her work has featured on the Australian high rating television series “The Block" and in many publications, including Home Beautiful Magazine, the Sun Herald and Modern Home Magazine.

“My main motivation is to portray the inherent beauty and harmony that exists in the inter-relationship of colour, composition and form. I like to work on several pieces simultaneously and my process involves building up layers of materials and textures. My initial layers are thin and fluid inks and watercolour. As the paintings progress I move into thicker paints, acrylics, varnishes and glazes. I even have a fondness for house paints! I love the way the work builds, it is an art in itself to know when the piece is complete."
