Like beauty, grace and strength. Three names united in the signature of a self-taught artist with multiple talents.

Leslie is like a permanent trilogy in the service of art since her earliest childhood, where she already devotes a passionate, contemplative and carnal love to painting. Indeed, the artist Lyonnaise made her first canvas at the age of 3. Less than 10 years later, she is already responding to her first order.

Leslie's universe is ruled by balance, architecture and movement. The artist expresses on his canvases his taste for curves, perspectives and horizons. Her creative spirit and appetite for challenges lead her to explore various techniques and supports. Reflections of contemporary society, his "Urban Cities" are expressed through daring supports such as stainless steel sheets. Currently she is thinking about and experimenting with bronze.

Leslie then offers a personal and suggested vision of the urban world that surrounds her. She stages this urbanization where lights and colors radiate, play and are reflected like an anamorphosis.

These syringe-woven colors, associated with the nobility of the supports, express and vibrate to the rhythm of its palette of shades of gray and flamboyant colors. From each angle of view, his paintings, whether made on canvas or on steel, have a different reading, as if they were the expression of his memories, emotions and dreams.

Her work, notably inspired by the expressionist movement, is imbued with freshness, youth and femininity. It creates movement without fuss and offers powerful colorimetry without going overboard.

Leslie plays with these different hooks of light between matte and shiny materials, which makes her creations elusive, alive and inspired! The artist then becomes again the little girl who painted at 3 years old and plunges back into an imaginary without borders.

Imagine it at home

Leslie Berthet Laval, N°2 Cité Urbaine

Painting is omnipresent in Leslie's life. The artist from Isère made his first canvas at the age of 3. Less than 10 years later, she is already responding to her first order. The drawing is his real writing although his multiple talents are also expressed through the decoration. In 1996, Leslie obtained a degree in interior design. She worked for 20 years as a decorative painter in the creation and restoration of art for historical monuments as prestigious as the Louvre Museum in Paris or the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon. Many châteaux and churches in the Rhône Alpes region have been entrusted to it for their renovation. Leslie pursues her career as a self-taught artist in parallel, exhibiting her works at international events such as the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.

The artist expresses his taste for curves and perspectives on his paintings. Her work, notably inspired by the expressionist movement, is imbued with freshness, youth and femininity. Leslie's creative spirit and appetite for challenges lead her to explore a wide variety of techniques and themes. Reflections of contemporary society, its “marine cities” allow it, for example, to evoke ecological news: global warming, nuclear power, etc. With his particularly inspired series of “angels”, Leslie revisits this theme with great daring. She places aesthetics in the exclusive service of emotion.

Leslie's universe is ruled by balance. Indeed, she manages to suggest movement without agitation. Its colors are powerful but never aggressive. His palette dominated by blue, green and red is worked with a brush and a knife. The painter does not hesitate to question herself during artistic performances in public. She creates the spectacle thanks to an original process: emptying syringes filled with paint directly onto the canvas. Absorbed by her art, she plays, gives free rein to her instinct, unpretentious. The artist then becomes again the little girl who painted at 3 years old and plunges back into an imaginary without borders.
