"This work by Kim Ham, born in 1938 in South Korea, "games of diagonals" is a freehand painting and Chinese ink on oriental paper characteristic of the work of the artist who is the Master of the technique of drawing with hand raised in coordination with sight (Technique without any tool, ruler, protractor or compass, with great freedom of hand, rapid and precise movement) of paint or ink on oriental paper.
Kim Han achieves geometric perfection like the old oriental masters who without any tools, their only treasure being their hand, master the art of pure line according to their imagination and their concentration. KIM HAN offers us the perfection of the line by his only artistic genius.
PARIS ART OLYMPIADS 1991 1992
In 1991 and 1992, under the High Patronage of French President Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, Mayor of Paris, KIM HAN was selected to represent South Korea with his works of art during the PARIS Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the CNOSF, French Olympic Committee. This international event was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul, South Korea, where a monumental sculptures Museum in open air and a Museum of International paintings was created for the world competition, in order to invite and show the art of major international artists of the 20th Century." Excerpt, Lise Cormery, Art of Post-War Ecole de Paris, Michelangelo Publishing, 2021.
