About the artwork
Artwork sold in perfect condition
A 40 year old painter from Touraine, Peter Fish offers us a painting in love with life. From memories, snapshots, personal photographs, literary, artistic and musical references, the artist creates a sincere, magical and curious universe. A universe in which the best moments will always find a poetic place.
Having an aesthetic view of the world from a very young age, Peter Fish has been expressing himself through painting since he was 17 years old. A freshwater sailor father and a singing mother, but also an attentive sister and sincere friends have all greatly contributed to developing in him a real sensitivity to human relations, arts, travels, plants and music from here and elsewhere.
After a career as a Landscape Architect, Town Planner and Surveyor, he now generously takes us on a journey through figurative and dreamlike paintings, full of colour. Largely influenced by the many artistic currents that have placed colour at the heart of their research: such as Impressionism, Pointillism, Post-Impressionism, the Nabi movement and Pop-art.
In recent years he has been creating colourful works, successively between faces and landscapes, in order to take us into the emotion of looking at and contemplating the world. He thus delivers us creations devoid of any constraint... As a poet, he says that "all certainty prevents all creation", and that "reality is born from the imagination.
