  • About the artwork

    Artwork sold in perfect condition

People tend to band together in large cities, overcrowded habitats in which, paradoxically, agglomeration leads to loneliness. Overcrowding leads to isolation and sharing spaces makes us invisible.

This phenomenon is especially evident in mega-cities such as Asian. Constructions with extreme dimensions rise with the intention to maximize minimal space, often conditioned by an impossible geography.

In this vertical environment, buildings reproduce miniature cities formed by symmetrical, identical and characterless housing, as cells in a beehive. A homogeneous ecosystem in which the population moves en masse and the individual is diluted in the crowd.

An architectural solution that the most populated regions of the planet inevitably rely, and shows a future increasingly dehumanized. Millions of people dwelling in concrete cages, confined to a kind of human zoo.

Sometimes the gaze of a photographer can show an objective, concise and nuanced image, which is not fully perceived by the observer. Through my camera I have tried to show that detail, that point of view, the prospect of a not so distant reality. I hope I have succeeded.

"City life is millions of people being lonesome together."

    - Henry David Thoreau
