Fish Can is part of the 'Surreal Fishions' series - a collection of wry observations on the global food industry. A digitally modified fish supper for the digital age which took nearly twenty years to prepare!
The picture of the sardine can was taken on good, old-fashioned film in the UK in the early nineties and the rather sad-looking fish was 'captured' digitally in Thailand in 2011.
The two images were happily married in a computer in the same year and are still together.
Chromogenic print on Fuji Crystal Archival paper.
Paper size - 20" x 16" (51 x 41 cm)
Image size - 18" x 14" (46 x 36 cm)
Signature written in black ink rear lower left under hand-numbered gallery stamp.
Certificate of Print Authenticity.
Condition - Mint.
Ships rolled in a large PVC tube.

Art Grafts saw the light of the day in 2011 in a little provincial town of Roi-Et in the North East of Thailand. It was the unique idea and alter ego of the English Fine art photographer Dominic Rouse, who is known for his black and white surrealistic photos. Art Grafts was created in order to clearly differentiate between the personal artistic portfolio, often unsettling and the artist's accessible commercial work.
