"From things to eyes and from eyes to vision, nothing more passes than things into the hands of the blind and from his hands to his mind.” Merleau-Ponty in The Eye and the Spirit.

Based on the principle of a film sequence, the series "Voir les yeux fermés" (seeing wtith eyes closed) questions our relationship to reality. Wandering in the limbo of the imagination, the chronology of images is part of a process of temporal evolution.

    Remanences, evocations or omens?
Intention is not in the narrative. Only the experience of visions that unfold like a film whose meaning could emerge from the symbolism of each of the "windows" opened on the subconscious. Like the experience of the shamanic trance intended to come into contact with the invisible and which consists in creating the union between body and mind.

My photographic work questions this relationship between the world around us and our inner world. It seeks to make the manifestation of the non-visible "visible".

Fabrice Domenet

France Born in: 1963

Born in 1963, Fabrice Domenet is from the city of Biarritz and lives and works in Paris. Initially trained in choreographic studies, he practiced the profession of dancer while at the same time devoting himself to photography, which he practiced as a self-taught artist. A close relationship exists between these two areas, which he has never been able to separate. He thus questions respectively the relationship of the body-presence to space and time while seeking, from a physical experience, to modify our states of perception.

Coming from the "silver" generation, he invested very young in his first camera and simultaneously acquired a photographic enlarger. He then practiced black and white printing in the darkroom. Spotted by image experts during the "Photo Doc" 2015 portfolio reading meetings organized by Carré-sur-Seine in Paris, he exhibited for the first time at the Festival Voies Off Arles in 2016. Since then, he has been invited to exhibit in various galleries in Paris, the provinces and abroad.
