Mathilde Oscar
France Born in: 1980

After studying Art History and years of painting practice, it is natural that my work is much more pictorial than photographic.

My intention is not to capture the moment, on the contrary I make it. I create an image of any room and I imagine a new story in each series. I am a storyteller, that is to say that my specialty is to tell stories. From this point of view, I differ from the photo of reporting by leaving little room for chance, because everything is studied upstream, every detail counts.

To succeed in getting out of my mind a whole imaginary world, my universe, obliges me to realize completely all the elements which compose it: Accessories, costumes, decorations, created on measure and "handmade" for each photograph.

A world made, inspired by all times and at the same time out of time and all mediums. Escape the rules while following them, fill no box while registering, this is my vocation.
