Stay Zen

To steady ourselves from the rhythm of our hectic and busy lives, we sometimes need to break away and relax, and this is especially true when we arrive back home. Incorporating a Zen decoration is an excellent way to easily recharge our batteries and clear our minds.

First of all, it is simply impossible to talk about a Zen atmosphere without mentioning the ancestral technique of Feng Shui (the thousand-year-old Chinese art supposed to help us reach serenity and absolute content by modifying our physical environment). The "Feng Shui" method translates as "wind and water" and is based on the five elementary pillars: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. A decoration, called "feng shui", respects strict rules of arrangement to obtain a Zen spirit, starting with the use of natural materials such as clear wood (driftwood, rattan and even natural bamboo...).

Colors also hold a place of capital importance in the quest towards "feng shui". In reference to yin and yang, which are opposed but always complement each other in space, we choose and match very different shades. We opt for very soft pastel tones such as sky blue or aniseed green for the yin. For the yang, on the contrary, we will think of dominant warm colors such as orange and fire red. In general, white or unbleached walls are always preferred, especially in your bedroom to obtain a relaxing atmosphere. For a perfect feng shui result, think of the decorative paintings that marry all these colors in an elegant way.

Furthermore, Zen decoration is innately minimalist. We start by getting rid of the redundant and keep only the bare necessities. However, a refined interior decoration is not incompatible with a beautiful wall decoration. And what is better than a work of art to create a zen atmosphere and allow us to relax? Consider using triptychs or monochrome abstract works. Paintings, photographs of landscapes or animals are also possible to achieve a Zen decoration. These types of works allow you to escape from everyday life and, with a simple glance, soothe the viewer. They are not meant to impress but simply exist for their sheer beauty.

In addition to the paintings, some decorative objects can accentuate the zenitude of the house: a statue with the effigy of Buddha; statuettes bring good luck; painted vases, a pouffe ... these objects will bring a significant ethnic touch to your home and will contribute to create a haven of peace where it is good to live.

A harmonious zen decoration also extends to a zen garden. Nature and water play a very important role in this Japanese aesthetic. We can only advise the acquisition of works of art representing flowers (the orchid for its pure lines, cherry blossoms, water lilies,) or water features.
