Mises en scènes fantastiques
Lorsque René Magritte a peint « Le fils de l'homme » en 1964, il a dit à son sujet : « Tout ce que nous voyons cache une autre chose, nous voulons toujours voir ce qui est caché par ce que nous voyons. Il y a un intérêt pour ce qui est caché et que le visible ne nous montre pas. »
Le tableau montre un homme en chapeau melon et en pardessus, debout face à nous, avec derrière lui un muret au-delà duquel se trouve l'horizon d'une mer et un ciel de nuages. Mais son visage est largement masqué par une pomme verte flottante ! Nous savons que son visage est là, nous pouvons voir ses yeux qui dépassent de la pomme, mais à quoi ressemble-t-il ? Et surtout, avons-nous vraiment besoin de le savoir ? L'intérêt pour ce que le visible ne nous montre pas peut donc être illustré par des artistes présentant leur travail dans un cadre fantastique ou conceptuel. Dans la sélection d'œuvres aux décors fantastiques d'Artsper, Javier Rey explore les possibilités de la sculpture et des structures physiques. Ben Goossens (BEL), quant à lui, a été influencé par le surréalisme, surnommé le Dali ou le Magritte de la photographie, car il associe une sensibilité intense au rêve. À travers des créations intemporelles, la raison et l'espace, BEL tente de dépeindre l'essence des fantasmes - ce que nous pouvons voir et, en fait, une interprétation de ce qui est caché…
