Roma, La Vera Vita (Paris, 2010)

Paris From January 29, 2010 to February 26, 2010

Presentation
After 40 years of absence, here are the first steps towards its audience. While the restoration of Fabrizio La Torre's photographic archives has barely begun a year ago, the Italian Embassy in Paris and Madame Rossana Rummo, Art Historian and Director of the Cultural Institute, offer the Parisian public an opportunity to discover the artist's first photos of Rome.
One can feel the strength of a neo-realistic look at the nostalgia for a barely over era and the will to oppose the "vera" vita to the "dolce" vita. The life of the Roman people in their post-war difficulties and the modesty of their daily lives is central to the scenes, opposite to the rhinestones and glitter of Via Veneto, where the flashes of the paparazzi crackle in front of world-famous stars and young girls who dream of becoming one.
