Presentation

Born in Laon in 1975, Blu made her entry into art through street art with the desire to convey emotion around the corner. She poses her first collages in the streets of Reims with poetry as a claim, then in the streets of France and elsewhere as she goes.

Her work is carried by the blue color that she has always loved. Immaterial color of the sky and the sea, of infinite space, this color which carries in it at the same time the sadness of the blues, the starry nights of the Tuaregs and the sacredness of the Marian mantle.

Self-taught, her research led her to the technique of cyanotype, a monochrome photography process invented by John Herschel in 1942. This technique, which gives pride of place to light, allows her to create an alchemical work where natural elements, plants, the sun react to the chemistry offering a cyan blue print.

Blu draws inspiration from plants. Careful observation of nature, of the ephemeral, of the sensitive are part of her creative process.

The photograms obtained are developed on old paper on which the texts are added. When the old pages, the photograms, the blue and the texts respond to each other, an alchemy is created around the work, a reflection of his sensitivity and his view of the world.

In September 2021, she participated in the exhibition Street Art for women at the M.AL. de Laon with Licéa, Marquise and Petite-Poissone.

Portrait of Blu_451

"Fill yourself with the wonders of the world. Live your life as if you were to die tomorrow. Look at the world."

Ray Bradbury

These few lines of Fahrenheit 451 are the essence of Blu's work. This is carried by literature, poetry finding a special place in it, work also carried by the desire to provide everyone, in the street, with access to the beauty of the world.
