Presentation

Bernard Pons was born in Ambilly on December 27, 1964, he graduated from the School of Fine Arts and the Villa Arson in Nice. He was a resident of Villa Paladino (in Bolivia) in 2013.

In "The Search for the Absolute", published in modern times in 1948, Sartre exposed a marvelous idea of primordial order, prior to the history of culture, he evoked the antediluvian face of his friend, who made fun of culture and did not believe in progress, making the man of Altamura and the man of Eyzies his chosen contemporaries, believing in this extreme youth of nature where neither the beautiful nor the ugly still exist.

And to these themes of existential anthropology, the nothing is already a lot. Images come to us. Naked bodies, feathers, supple bodies, scarified faces, skin capes, labrits lips, distended necks, adorned, spectacular. There come to us images of swimming, running, feet brushing the ground or hitting the ground.

Fresh leaves sewn into a matrix. Armed with a bow and arrows Bernard Pons honors the piece he is about to create, and asks his permission before sharing the meat; the silver-coated wild salmon agrees to transform, the old lynx with a scowling face becomes a handsome young man.

A thousand beings that have slipped into his imagination like announcements of fate and on a guiding idea that we must read them. The children play with nuclear parrots from which they tear off the colored atoms to make pendant earrings; a young girl carries the sky on her head, her tail gracefully slipped. We are reminded of images of paradise lost, of extreme freedom, of a world which is only the visible part of its spiritual substance, which contains the gaze of the other.
