Presentation

François Benoit-Lison is an artist born in Granville on April 14, 1968.

He draws his inspiration from the figurative world, and follows his journey towards lyrical abstraction and then towards a more contrasted aesthetic where black predominates as sovereign master. Without limit, black is inscribed as his leitmotiv, exacerbating its dark backside or drawing its brilliance, its softness, its shades and its richness. The artist highlights the black with a myriad of declinations, embracing its values ??and explosions. with dexterity, François Benoit-Lison, surrenders to the overlaping of different colors.
After acrylics and oil, the use of tar is at the service of abstraction allowing to exploit the material in all its forms, with an exacerbated depth and contemporary aesthetics. Abstraction remains his struggle, his adventure, his freedom, his dreams, his rage, his loneliness. Since the 80s, through a research, the painter incites through his exhibitions to a reflection and a philosophy, that convey an impetuous and indescriptible message, but tangible by a permanent imprint.

François Benoit-Lison is listed in the Akoun. He is was awarded the silver medal by the European Institute of Contemporary Arts in 2016.
