Presentation
Mathilde de Bellecombe is a French artist born in 1976. After growing up in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, she moved to Paris at the age of 20 and studied interior architecture and design at the École Camondo.
Passionate about painting since a young age, it was obvious that she would specialize in this field and train in various workshops, first at the Atelier du Soleil (1988-1990) then at Dominique Baument’s workshop (1990-1996) and finally at the Atelier de Sèvres (1996-1997).
Then, she moved to Argentina where she dived into the Latin-American country’s colorful and perfected her painting style at the workshop of Marcela Baubeau de Secondigne. There, she determined her favorite subjects such as hope, our daily pursuit for happiness, the possible paths available to us in life. Her abstract paintings of flat colors are full of walking figures, always left blank.
Once she returned to France, she regularly frequented Atelier Pièce Unique since 2009. Her work has been exhibited several times in Argentina and in France.
