GIB La Manufacture is now developing its artistic imprint by producing illustrations. The animal portraits she imagines are intended to be both realistic and inspired by nature, and are sometimes embellished with geometric patterns. Tattooing and urban art constitute his sphere of reference.

GIB wishes to assert a critical and committed look at our environment. Aware of the threat to its greatest sources of inspiration, which are animals, it works in favor of ecological awareness on the part of the public.

Being an architect by training, the city - nature duality has always interested her. The climatic and societal evolution of our daily lives pushes it to give back to flora, and especially to fauna, the importance they should have in our lives. You can recognize her by that: sheep coming out of the Paris metro, a gorilla in Vieux Lyon, an octopus on an electric scooter in the Rhône ...

GIB first uses India ink, which allows it to reveal contrasts in black and white; then acrylic or watercolor paint to underline a singular feature of the animal or to contextualize it in an environment. His works take the form, either of large paper formats centered on details, or of productions on various supports, in particular for customizations. French vintage skateboard decks have become his favorite medium. This urban object plays for her the role of interface between the fauna and the city.

“I recently became the proud owner of a dead stock of skateboard decks from the famous Reflex brand. These boards were made in Annecy, between 1978 and 1983. The illustration highlights the wood and the shape of the board, and vice versa. Working on these vintage skateboards also gives them a second life as a work of art. Today my productions decorate interiors or roll in cities. "
