Presentation

I have been a painter since 1998, the year of my installation in Italy. Coming from a family of artists, I first worked in the world of cartoons and then for a long time as a theater designer

I would first describe my work as intuitive, soul painting! It is in the aquatic reflections that I seek my inspiration. Water, which is the essential element of life, from our birth to our death, has always appeared in my paintings, whether I am in the figurative or the abstract, I have never liked to put a border between his two styles of painting; I very often make them overlap even if for some years now I have given a clear preference to the abstract style.

It is especially since my installation in Venice, city of water par excellence that I have developed my work on reflections! Venice has acted on me like a magnet, guiding each of my gestures to the slow rhythm of its canals.

This permanent confrontation of his image, by extension of his soul which is being destroyed and rebuilt on a daily basis has become almost obsessive… A game between yin and yang!

It is in these labyrinths, these anamorphoses of lines and colors that I delight; These moving puzzles of our surrounding decor, which change at the slightest breath of air, made me want to discover all its magic and mysteries. My gaze on these waters is not only a superficial gaze but a deep gaze… It is a total absorption.

These anamorphoses ask a simple question who are we and where are we going?

I always work on these reflections from my own photos which serve as my trigger; These are not artistic photos but photos of detail, of a snapshot... My paintings of reflections, I prepare them like an old-fashioned animated film: The decor, then the animated elements and to finish the editing and gluing; It's a game of superimposition of paint and paper, undulations, serpentines, swirls that intertwine to offer a painting full of texture!

I bring to my pictorial work movement, rhythm to create the music of canals, waterfalls, rivers and make them resonate in color!

My mediums are mainly paper and wood panel

Finally, I would say that layering, material and color are the key words of my abstract paintings.
