Corinna Modigliani (1871-1959) was part of the Jewish upper class at the turn of the century. In 1895 she began to exhibit miniatures at the LXVI Exhibition of the Society of amateurs and lovers of the fine arts; in 1898 she presented painted velvet panels at the Italian and international general exhibition in Turin and, in the same year, he collaborated on the decoration inspired by oriental subjects of  Palazzo Calabresi Vanni in Viterbo. In 1904 and 1905 Modigliani held two personal exhibitions in his studio in via Margutta, which she shared with her sister Olga, mainly exhibiting large portraits. In the same year she designed a funeral monument for her teacher Vanni, who had just passed away. In the following years, the exhibition activity deepened. Born above all as a portraitist and sensitive interpreter of the world of childhood, in the years of her artistic maturity Corinna Modigliani continued to favor these themes, often also portraying characters from the world of art and culture.
