Patrick Gries is an artist born in Luxembourg in 1959. He studied at the Normal School in Belgium than settled in New York in 1984 after his discovery of American photography. He started to work as an assistant in a photography studio before working as a free-lance. He settled in Paris in 1992, where he exercised different professions in the world of luxury, design and contemporary art.

Very talented, his work is noticed in many institutions as the Cartier Foundation and the Quai Branly museum. He then became a major actor of the edition world. His expert eye allows a precise contextualisation of the work of art, characteristic of his work. It enables him to fix the beauty of any object, monumental as the giant thumb of Caesar or the tiny brooch of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Patrick Gries created a special relationship with the fashion, art book, architecture and design worlds, that led him to participate in many projects. The artist did not necessarily stop his personal work, leaving its marks on people's minds with his series "Evolution", pictures of 230 skeletons and "Visibility/Invisibility" on albinos in Tanzania.
