Presentation
Collective exhibition of contemporary urban artists - from May 29 to June 13, 2015 Miss. Tic - Jérôme Mesnager - Guy Denning - Artist Worker - Levalet In its first issue of the review Derrière le Miroir, the Galerie Maeght edified black, and its complement white, to the rank of colors and decided the position of Descartes for whom blacks "Have no other colors than darkness". Alone or in addition, simple outline or powerful flatness, poverty or luxuriance, essential or to emphasize, variation or vibration, abyssal light or darkness, black fascinates, worries, questions and opens up a field of possibilities in perpetual movement, sublime artistic eldorado where confrontation between sobriety, elegance, sadness and mystery. The exhibition Black is a color… urban, extends this experience of light and shows how the greatest contemporary urban artists limit their palette to blacks and whites to shine on the city and thrill the gaze of the passer-by confronted with a work that 'he wasn't looking. Their work with spray, paint or Indian ink invests public space, often by surprise, to offer multiple variations and succeed in an incredible bet: to give color to the city! On the occasion of this exhibition, the works of Miss Tic, Jérôme Mesnager, Guy Denning, Artiste Ouvrier and Levalet will be to be discovered in a space oscillating between light and penumbra, from white to black, from black to white and in all their nuances. . For this event, the artists each produced a 100x65xm lithograph that sublimates blacks. To discover and to be signed during the opening!
