Presentation

Born in Yerres in 1974, Philippe Baudelocque began his artistic career as a teenager by taking a shot at graffiti. The artist eventually gave up on painting for a more figurative art.

Graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris, he began with "Cosmic Animals" in 2009, a fresco series depicting wildlife. The concept saw the light of the day at Rue du Pont au Choux in the thirteenth district of Paris, while the artist was taking a walk and came across an abandoned being. After having received the owner's authorization, Baudeloque gave life to his first animal on a wall, converted as a blackboard with a chalk.

Due to his graffiti experience, the artistic retained the presence of wall and provided a sophisticated touch. An aesthetic aspect found in the anatomy of his "animaux cosmiques", further characterized through a cluster of cells, making up a dimension. For each dimension, Baudelocque creates a pattern, with rare complexity. This makes it all the more difficult for the passer-by not to stop and admire the multitude of details, making up his animals.
