André Stempflel is a French painter and sculptor born in Villeurbanne in 1930. He currently lives and works in Paris.
He started his artistic studies with a pupilof Albert Gleizes, at the Academy of Design in Lyon. In 1958 he left to Paris and started studying at the Academy of the Garde Chaumiére.
As he progressed in his career, colors and forms reduced and became increasingly minimalist. Nowadays he uses only one color, a bright and radiant yellow . Humor is as well a main component of his work.
His pieces are exhibited all thoughtout the world, from France to Japan.
