Born in 1965 - United Kingdom
Richard Heeps has been photographing poor neighborhoods of the United States and Great Britain for more than 10 years. In an approach of seduction, with saturated colors, the artist shows us his love and empathy for his subjects.
His work is inspired by the 40s and 50s, it tells a story and a state of mind through a relentless pursuit of the American dream. His pictures are a kind of personal photo-essay, from strip clubs in Bedfordshire, England to burlesque performances in Hollywood.
The photographs of Richard Heeps are somewhere between art and reportage.
