Born in 1987 - United States
Kit King was born in 1987, she is a Canadian contemporary artist and is famous worldwide. She lives and works in the region of Ontario, Canada. She grew up in a family of artists, she developed an artistic touch right since here childhood and experimented with various techniques and materials.
Kit King does hyper-realistic art by depicting ephemeral relations around him, a unique eye with a sneaky look, or a moment caught in the action...Instead of representing reality, the artist depicts the essence of the image. She probes light and shadows, as she perceives the influence of lighting on the spectator while he's viewing art. Through her creations, she is able to forge links, an immediate connection between the spectator and the art work. Her major creations depict society but also its obsessions and contemporary norms, while deconstructing perceived ideas. She examines themes like objectification, dehumanization, obligation, deconstruction of sex, genre and oneself. King explores the question of "soul searching" compared to cultural development.
She has done several individual and collective exhibitions in galleries and museums, which are well known around the world. She exhibited in Canada, USA, UK, Australia and United Arab Emirates. King has also participated in several contemporary art fairs like Scope Miami, Texas Contemporary and The Hampton's Art + Design, and her work is part of public and private collections all around the world. She received many awards especially « The Kingston Prize portrait competition Peoples Choice award » in 2016, « Grand Prize winner – PRZM Dream Big Competition », or « Honourable mention- Gamblin Torrit Competition » in 2015. Her work was also published in several international presses « American Art Collector » in 2017,
« American Art Collector » in 2016, to name a few.
