Biography
Born in 1961 Jean Marie Drouet is graduated from the Fine Arts School of Angoulême. He likes drawing and making lot of photos before beginning a painting. He is inspired by contemporary photography and film culture that gives him an optimistic look on the world.
Referring to the American realistic painters such as N.C Wyeth or Edward Hopper, life’s scenes and characters are his favorite subjects. He is also fascinated by strong light contrasts and minimalistic settings. Sunlight is everywhere in Jean Marie Drouet paintings showing us the beautiful side of life.; his painting is quiet and bright aiming the beauty of the present time.
