Presentation
Pierre-Luc Poujol was born in 1963 in Alès in the Cévennes.
After dividing his time between France and the United States, he now lives and works in the South of France, near Montpellier.
He made brilliant studies in applied arts where he graduated at the top of his class (first prize in drawing, first prize in perspectives, first prize in sketching).
Influenced by the peasant roots of his farmer grandfather and lulled by the spiritual environment of his pastor father, Pierre-Luc Poujol developed a sensitivity to the world and the nature around him very early on.
From his first work on the bark, he probes the soul of the trees, getting as close as possible using his projection and dripping techniques combining unique tools (tree branches) that he has knew how to create and organic mediums that he harvests (ashes, bark. )
Rewarded for his work and his artistic commitment, he wins eminent prizes He was notably the winner of the international prize awarded by UNESCO for the bimillennium of the nativity.
Pierre-Luc Poujol also strives to establish special links with museum institutions His last exhibition, “Journey to Giverny", at the Paul Valéry museum, was an opportunity for the artist to enter the Museum's collection.
An involved artist, in spring 2022 he becomes the first ambassador of the French NGO Coeur de Forêt for which he lends his voice and his brushes in favor of the preservation of our biodiversity.
He is currently working on his next museum exhibition which will be presented to the public in spring 2024.
