Fotografias de glamour
El concepto de glamour se adentra en nuestros deseos más íntimos. Aunque a menudo se limita injustamente a la representación de la moda y el arte, las mujeres o las celebridades, la escritora Virginia Postrel señala que el glamour es más grande que eso: tiene poder en forma de persuasión no verbal. En una charla sobre el glamour en 2014, Postrel señala que "el glamour es algo que crea una sensación de proyección y anhelo. El anhelo es por la canalización de nuestros deseos". La historia de la fotografía de glamour, un campo a menudo malinterpretado, se encuentra en algún lugar entre los reinos de las sesiones fotográficas de moda y la pornografía, y se originó en los primeros años de la Francia de 1900. Con el florecimiento de la Edad de Oro de Hollywood en Estados Unidos, el cambio de siglo vio cómo el arte y la fotografía se trasladaban a este país y cómo Ruth Harriet Louise se convertía en una de las fotógrafas más prolíficas de los años veinte. A medida que avanzaban las décadas, también lo hacían las ideas en torno a lo que define la fotografía de glamour. En efecto, no se trata de un grupo limitado de temas, como se ve en la obra de Alain Daussin y, en particular, en los desnudos en blanco y negro de Gun Roze, ya que el artista capta lo seductora que era la libertad de la Nueva York de los años 80 en comparación con la actual. Así, este estilo de fotografía cuestiona nuestros deseos más íntimos: bajar la guardia y sucumbir al encanto del glamour en todas sus formas.
