Oeuvres Grands Formats
Les œuvres grand format existent depuis de nombreux siècles, d'abord statues ou fresques les formats de plus d'un mètre par un mètre s'appliquent à la peinture. Au XVIIe siècle les tableaux excédent quasiment systématiquement ces dimensions comme par exemple les tableaux de Rubens ou Velasquez dont les figures sont représentées taille réelle. Il est vrai que ces dernières années l'art du grand format a pris un autre tournant accédant au rang de monumentale et colossale. Des installations et des sculptures font maintenant plusieurs dizaines de mètres et se rapprochent presque de l'architecture comme par exemple le Cloud Gate d'Anish Kapoor.
Les œuvres grand format ne font heureusement pas toutes l'envergure d'un éléphant. Elles présentent d'ailleurs de grands avantages décoratifs et artistiques. Non seulement c'est un moyen facile de terminer la décoration d'une pièce et de meubler un espace, mais c'est aussi une excellente solution pour relooker la totalité de votre appartement. S'il s'agit d'une oeuvre coup de coeur n'hésitez plus, elle deviendra la pièce maîtresse de votre intérieur en personnalisant toute votre décoration. Lorsqu'il s'agit de photographies, la qualité des tirages grand format est décuplée donnant à votre intérieur l'allure d'une salle d'exposition.
L'art en format XXL permet à l'artiste de laisser libre court à son imagination car les frontières de la toiles sont agrandies. Réaliser des oeuvres dans un grand format relève d'une grande technicité, et maîtrise des matériaux utilisé notamment. La sensibilité n'est pas la même que sur un format 30x30cm. Et puis nombreux sont les artistes contemporains à travailler prioritairement sur des formats importants. D'ailleurs des expositions se spécialisent aujourd'hui sur les grandes réalisations comme MONUMENTA au grand Palais ou tous les deux ans, un artiste investit la neffe du Grand Palais pour y installer une ou plusieurs œuvres généralement de (très) grand format.
Photographes, peintres ou sculpteurs le gigantisme artistique marquera l'histoire de l'art contemporain avec de grands artistes spécialisés dans les formats colossaux. Il est possible d'illustrer cet attrait pour les grandes tailles à travers l'exemple de ces artistes : le photographe canadien Jeff Wall, le sculpteur indo-britannique Anish Kapoor ou encore le peintre franco-chinois Yan Pei ming et la liste est longue. Ces trois artistes là se sont fait une place sur le marché de l'art grâce évidemment à leurs grand sens artistiques mais aussi par les formats inédits de leurs oeuvres d'arts.
