Compositions photographiques colorées
Capter ce que nous voyons. C'est une tâche difficile en soi, surtout lorsque la nature ou le paysage urbain offrent à ceux qui se trouvent derrière l'objectif un si large spectre de couleurs avec lequel jouer. La toute première photographie en couleurs a été prise en 1861 par Thomas Sutton, après la méthode des trois couleurs suggérée par James Clerk Maxwell en 1855. La capture du tartan écossais, le sujet du photographe, visait à utiliser le rouge, le bleu et le vert - tout comme la façon dont l'œil perçoit la couleur par réfraction de la lumière - pour révéler les couleurs dans les gris de la photographie monochromatique. Bien que le processus ait été développé par la suite, la couleur et la façon dont elle est capturée (et améliorée) inspirent toujours l'artiste. Les compositions photographiques colorées sont l'un des outils les plus importants qu'un photographe puisse utiliser pour créer une ambiance ou un sentiment dans son travail. En comprenant les couleurs et la façon dont elles forment votre œuvre, l'artiste peut s'adresser au spectateur - pouvez-vous voir ce que je vois ? Qu'il s'agisse de dépeindre les teintes d'un joli ruban ou d'un panorama saisissant, la façon dont les couleurs sont combinées, contrastées, complétées ou même absentes suscite une réaction chez le spectateur.
